It’s Never too Early to Plan Ahead

To make sure you have financial protection, United Rentals offers several different types of Life and AD&D (Accident) insurance, provided through Prudential.

Basic Life Insurance – paid by United Rentals

Your coverage includes:

Employee
Spouse/Domestic Partner
Child(ren)
1x your annual base pay up to $125,000; benefit reduced by 50% of the original amount at age 70.
$1,500 of coverage up to age 70.
Child(ren): $1,500 of coverage from live birth up to 26 years.
Under current tax laws, imputed income is the value of your Basic Life insurance that exceeds $50,000 and is subject to federal income, Social Security and state income taxes, if applicable. The imputed income amount will be included in your paycheck as “Group Term Life” and shown on your W-2 statement.

Voluntary Life Insurance

If you want more coverage, you have the option of electing voluntary life insurance coverage for you and your eligible dependents.

Increments of .5x up to 8x your annual base pay, not to exceed $2,500,000
Increments of $10,000 up to $250,000, not to exceed 100% of employee coverage.
Coverage begins from live birth and continues to age 26 (if unmarried). Increments of $1,000 not to exceed $25,000 for children age 6 months to 26 years (if unmarried). Coverage is $500 for children aged less than 6 months. Cannot exceed 100% of the employee amount.

Part-time and Temporary employees are eligible for a limited subset of benefits.  Union employees: refer to your collective bargaining agreement for your benefits eligibility.
