Disability insurance provides financial protection if you’re unable to work due to illness or injury. It replaces a portion of your income, helping you manage everyday expenses and maintain stability while you recover.

LTD rates for Salaried/Exempt Employees

Short-Term Disability (STD)

 

STD is provided at no cost to you. You are automatically covered as a full-time, non-union employee no enrollment is needed.

Short-Term Disability60% of your weekly earnings to a $1,500 weekly maximum for 26 weeks
Benefit begins on the 15th day of disability

Long-Term Disability (LTD)

LTD Hourly Employees
If you are a full-time, non-union hourly employee, LTD is provided at no cost to you

 Benefit Coverage
Long-Term Disability (Hourly)60% of your monthly earnings up to a maximum of $15,000 per month
Benefit begins after 26 weeks of disability, and payments will last for as long as you are disabled or until you reach your Social Security Normal Retirement Age, whichever is sooner

LTD Salaried/Exempt Employees
If you are a full-time, exempt (salaried) employee, you have two options available at discounted group rates. For coverage to be approved, you may need to provide Evidence of Insurability.

Pre-existing Condition

A pre-existing condition limitation will apply during your first year on the Plan (or on the increase in coverage level if you move from Option A to Option B). If you received treatment, consultation, care, or services, or took prescription medication in the three months before your enrollment, a resulting disability will not be covered. Once you have been insured on the Plan as an active employee for a consecutive 12 months, the pre-existing condition limitation no longer applies.
