Scholarship Program for Children of Employees

United Rentals is pleased to sponsor a Scholarship Program for Children of Employees. The Program will award need-based financial assistance for top achieving students of United Rentals employees who plan to continue their education in college, university, or vocational school programs. Recipients will be known as ‘Kneeland Scholars’ in honor of Michael J. Kneeland, former CEO, and his passion of education and lifelong learning.

Each year 10 students are selected to receive scholarship awards of $2,500 each, renewable for up to three additional years for a total value of up to $10,000 per scholarship.

Starting in 2023 the program is administered by International Scholarship & Tuition Services (ISTS), a third-party impartial educational assistance management organization. Previously the program was administered by Scholarship America (prior year winners still eligible for renewal will need to work with ISTS on their renewal application).

The application window for the 2024 United Rentals Scholarship Program for Children of Employees will be open April 1st through April 30th (closes at 11:59 PM PST).
